Landing a bartending job is sometimes tough, so you have to get prepared. As a new bar owner, you probably don t want to spend the time and energy training a brand new bartender, you will be better off finding one who already has some skills.
The professional bartender is well versed on the legal and business ramifications of alcohol management and service. And there were some that weren t able to find anything better, so they settled for tending bar until something better did come along. You must be organized, knowing where things are and having access to them at a given notice.
A good memory is essential as a bartender. There are several styles of bartending as well, including the well known and very impressive flair style. You would be amazed at how many resumes get thrown in the garbage because the applicant doesn't bother to even list relevant information.
Your personality and charisma will take you very far. Rise above your peers by going out of your way and doing that extra bit just to please your customers.
